Clinical Psychologist

I work with clients who have depression, anxiety, relationship issues, difficulty coping with a life transition, such as ageing or loosing a job, coping with chronic illness or who have experienced trauma which is causing them difficulties in their life.

As part of my therapeutic style, I aim to establish what the client would like to achieve from therapy and ascertain their goals and strengths. I also like to explore patterns of behaviour and reactions to situations which may not be helpful for the individual. I like to adopt an integrated approach to therapy drawing on the theories of Mindfulness (being in the present), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (understanding the persons values and what stands in the way of living a value filled life), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (how thinking influences behaviour) and aspects of Schema Therapy (understanding relationships have influenced current coping mechanisms).

I see clients who have:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Chronic illness
  • Relationship issues
  • Difficulties with life transitions and ageing
  • Experienced trauma
